Doctor woes

Sierra, Ethan, & Anavey all had well-checks the other day. Sierra & Anavey had to get shots but amazingly enough, neither one of them cried.
Doctor offices are always a good time. Not.

New jacket!

Kb bought me a new Harley Davidson leather jacket yesterday & I love it but now I'm thinking I should have gone with the small. We have brown chaps so we've been waiting to find brown jackets to match. This is the first time in several years that they have offered brown.

What do you think? I have monkey arms so the sleeves aren't long enough in the small but it did fit me better. Do the shoulders & chest look all bulky & funny or should I stick with the medium?

Opinions welcome!!

Sierra the spelling bee CHAMPION!

Sierra came in 1st place in the spelling bee today! She gets her picture in the 2 local papers!
Ethan came in 1st place in his practice bee a couple days ago but ended up in 4th. He also did really good.

The kid in front of her has been talking smack all week because he won it last year but he didn't stand a chance. Sierra is THE SPELLER!This is when she realized that she had this thing in the bag. She heard the word "elite", smiled big, & spelled it perfect!
Sierra & her teacher Mr. Young.
Sierra & Ethan with there ribbons. (Ethan didn't do his hair this morning.)

Her winning words were "nutritious" & "elite"......she really blew everyone else away because she studied so hard for it!

Anavey has ponytails!! Wahoo!!

Anavey loves here ponies. She looks in the mirrow & says, "ohhhh, chute!!"

Here's my final thought....

Shaving a babies head does NOT make their hair come in thicker. Anavey has super fine hair.
Case closed.

Wyoming & the rigs

The roads were snowy & icy but we made to the middle of nowhere, Wyoming to pick up Kb from work. I took all the kids & they had fun seeing Wyoming because they had never been. I really like Wyoming. I think it's really cool.

This was the temperature there. Yes, that is a minus before the 23. The coldest we saw was actually minus 26. I was shocked. I have never even been in that kind of cold before. It's cold in Lapoint too but not quite this low. Our high yesterday was 8 degrees & freezing!!And this is Kb's rig. It huge. You can't really tell how big it is in this picture but those black pipes on the side of the rig are super long. See the orange thing towards the top? There is a tiny ladder on the side of it & that is where Kb walks up & down all day long & that is also why his body looks like a 23 year old instead of a 33 year old. He is in great shape & you can bounce a quarter off his butt.

He's also in charge of all the big motors & all mechanical equipment. He makes sure things keep running & don't freeze up.

D.I. score!

Jealous of my 60's wool vest & jacket combo? I got it for $5 at the D.I. The jacket has an awesome shape & I wore it to the ward Christmas party. I thought it would be funny if one of the older ladies reconized it from taking it to the D.I. but nobody said anything.

I love it!! My face in the first pic is just an added bonus.

P.S. Check out Anavey posing for the camera like me...haha!

Wuthering Heights

Well, I finished The Catcher In The Rye & I must say it confused the hell out of me. I have never seen such a random type of writing unless I am looking at it all wrong.

Now, on to Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte!

Who's in?

I have NAILS!!!!! Oh so pretty nails :)

Yeah, I know they aren't pretty but I don't know what the heck happened with my nails. They are growing & they are strong! I have never been able to grow nails & today I had my very first manicure without doing fake nails!
This might be insignificant to some of you but this is a true miracle in itself! Maybe it's the well water with all the minerals or something because they aren't even like this when I'm prego!
Maybe only my family will understand my joy. LOL!!

Popcorn balls & other Christmas goodies

We have been busy making all sorts holiday treats. We made popcorn balls, english toffee, peppermint bark, snickerdoodles, & now we are on to make cherry cordials. (my grandma's recipe but it looks so hard!)

Just plain old cute kids

2 babies

She loves her 2 babies & she calls them "2 babies." She puts them to bed & makes them cozy & hauls them everywhere with her.

My Secret Santa

WOW!!
Ok, you will not believe how wonderful perfect strangers can be. You know the yarn I needed so desperately? Well, I joined a crochet forum yesterday & posted my story.
This morning I had an email from a lady, somewhere in this country, stating how she did have 2 skeins of EGGNOG & would gladly sell them to me.
I was ecstatic & gave her my address. Well, much to my surprise she just shipped them & said Merry Christmas. She didn't charge me for either one & she paid to ship them as well.
I am begging her to charge me but she's refusing. Stuff like this makes my heart full & now I must pass this love along to someone else.
How cool is that? She has no idea who I am, she just wanted to be a sweet person.

Speech Impediment?

Be honest. Do I have a speech impediment? Every time I talk on the phone & say my full name people think I say "Johnson." I know Jensen & Johnson are similar but EVERY TIME? It's getting old.

I always wished I could have a job like the lady at Paypal who say, "Hello, & welcome to Paypal. For security purposes please enter the last 4 digits of your social security number." Why can't I sound like that?

Am I a lazy talker? I try to pronunicate as clear as possible but nobody seems to understand me. What's up?

I have decided to read 101 of the greatest books written (according to CollegeBoard.com).

I need a skein of yarn **HELP**

I started a blanket 5 years ago & I'm finally finishing it. (I'm the queen of starting projects & not finishing)

The problem I have run into is this......3 of the colors I am using have been discontinued so I am stressing bad! I think I might have found one of them that I need online but I desperately need the color EGGNOG in worsted weight. (Coats & Clark Red Heart Super Saver yarn)

If anybody has some old yarn laying around & may have this color please let me know & I will pay top dollar for 1 maybe 2 skeins. Please check your sewing room for these!!! I am so desperate. My queen size blanket all crocheted with double crochet stitches will be ruined.

Winter wonderland

It has finally dumped here. A little late being the middle of December and all but I'm just glad it's finally here. We got around 7" last night so driving to church this morning was a really good time! I'm so happy that I don't have my car anymore because I wouldn't have gone anywhere today.

They don't plow THESE roads! Haha!
Sugarbear seems to love it although she does get lost in it! Check her out in mid-run. Doesn't she look like Valcor from Neverending Story?

Golden & Bald eagles!

Bald eagle:Golden eagle flying away :( I can't get him!
You may or may not that eagles are by far my favorite animal ever. (Yes, i know they are birds.....quit correcting me! You know who you are!)

We have a massive golden eagle & a bald eagle living as our neighbors. The golden eagle is enormous & much, much bigger than the bald eagle but they seem to be living together....I'm not sure.
They seriously make me get all choked up because they are so grand. Do you even know how huge the golden eagle's wing span is? They are so beautiful & amazing but I cannot seem to ever catch them on film. They are quick so by the time I get my camera they are already very far away. My camera was zoomed all the way on the tree pics.

Let's see Santa!

I can't really say anything about Anavey being terrified of Santa because that was my exact same face in every Christmas picture until I was in middle school.

Santa isn't here everyday like he is in the malls so when he does come it's pandamonium. The whole city of Vernal, Roosevelt, & Lapoint were there I believe. We stood in line for over 30 minutes but it was all worth it. Anavey sure stressed Santa out though. He looked very overwhelmed!
Small towns rock by the way. I remember when we lived in Oak City & we would have a Christmas party at the town hall. Santa would come & we would get brown bags filled with peanuts (yuck) & other treats. This totally reminds me of those days. They gave everyone a FREE picture with Santa, the kids got a huge brown bag filled with candy, FREE breakfast of pancakes, eggs, & milk, & FREE entertainment for all. I was kind of blown away by that.
The fire engine & ambulance were there as well for kids to go in and check out. My kids thought that was cool except when we pulled up, & we didn't know why they were there, Ethan said, "I hope Santa didn't die."

Christmas Dino

This is one thing I adore about living up here. This dino in downtown Vernal is so cool. They always dress him up for the holidays. I forgot to take a picture of him at Thanksgiving time but it was so funny. He was cooking a turkey & had a huge pilgram hat on.

I also love that they are so festive. The whole street is lined with Christmas decorations. I love it!

Check out his beard. Is that not the coolest thing ever? I think so!

Santa & his elk

Up here Santa doesn't have reindeer. He has elk. That is how he rolls in the country. He also has a pet bear to protect him.

If we can't find Santa to take pics with like they do at malls then I might have to go ask this man if I can borrow his front yard for pics of my kids with Santa. Haha.

Wyoming & Flaming Gorge

I had to take Kb up to work in Wyoming. We left at midnight because he works at 5 am & it takes 4 1/2 hours to get there. I was so tired when we got there at 4 am so I slept for a couple hours in the truck at Kb's rig before I went home.
I am so mad I didn't take my camera so you get crappy Blackberry pics the show the megapixels bad. You should see all the oil rigs up there. It's amazing & I really didn't know how beautiful Wyoming is but it's so cold & windy. I had only been to Jackson Hole so I really didn't know the other parts of Wyoming. Their mountains, the Windrivers, are cool! They are so jagged & pointy.
I think I'll go pick him up in a couple weeks so I can take pictures. I did see wild horses though & that was the highlight of my trip. Oh, I also saw 4 huge bald eagles soaring over Flaming Gorge dam. I LOVE EAGLES! That was so cool.

First snowfall

They had fun but the snow is so dry & powdery that they couldn't do a snowman or snowballs or anything.

Anavey bawled when she had to come in. Her face was bright red & she was freezing but she wanted to stay out & play in the snow.

Thanksgiving & the barfaroni ride home

Thanksgiving was nice. I love being around my family & KB's. I didn't take one picture though....sometimes I just forget. We went to Twilight & Australia & I liked them both. We hung out a bit over at Erma & Roger's too. It's fun to see the babies.

We went to St. George on Wednesday & were planning on leaving Sunday but Anavey got sick the night before & was throwing up all night long with diarrhea to go along with it.

We decided to avoid the thrown up in truck & diarrhea blow outs so we stayed an extra day. On Monday she seemed to be doing just fine so we started on our 7 hour drive home. We went through Zion's & ate at Oscars & it was good as always.

About half way home I started to feel sick & so did Ethan. We made it to Roosevelt when Ethan started to say pull over but instead of words coming out, puke did......all over mine & Kb's hair & backs. It was the sickest thing EVER! Well, the smell must have made Anavey sick because she started throwing up in her car seat. I was leaning over to the back holding a plastic bag while she threw up & it made me sick so I started throwing up into the same bag.

So, Ethan is puking all over everyone while Anavey & I throw up into the same little plastic bag. Sierra just sat there saying, "oh my gosh, this is so sick!" We got home & were all sick all night long. Now, Kb is downstairs puky sick so Sierra seems to be the only one who managed to escape the disease this time.

I told this story to Ash & she said it sounded like something out of a movie. It was really funny now that I think about it. It's just not fun to clean up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Pretty walls

I met this cute girl that paints her walls & I love it. I want her to come & do mine. If anyone knows how to do this at all tell me because I want my kids rooms like this when we finally get a home!

Band of the week

Ne-Yo: Year Of The Gentleman

He is the bomb. He writes his own songs, has an awesome voice, dresses in awesome old school suits, always wears sweet hats, & dances like no other.

I love him. He is my new favorite R&B singer.

My favorite songs of this album are "Miss Independant", "Closer", & "So You Can Cry."

Moose kiss

Brokeback Mountain: The true story

Ok, I have to blog about this because it's so funny.
Not the bull in the front but the ones in the back are so gay. Every morning when I take the kids to school & when I pick them up these bulls are loving on each other. In the picture they are kissing.

School pictures

My cute kids

Anavey wears those elastic things in her hair everyday now. She loves them & puts 4 on at a time. She calls them bunnies for some reason we do not know.

My NY purchase

I decided not to spend all the money I got for New York. I did get these expensive Dolce & Gabbana ankle boots. I was planning on getting some Christian Louboutin pumps but I couldn't find my size anywhere. We went to Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, & the Christian Louboutin boutique but no luck so I guess it was meant to be finding these pretties!

I had blogged about these a really long time ago so I knew I already wanted them. They aren't exact but I do love them.

I also searched for jackets but all the ones I liked were Burberry & around $1400.

Chemical Cowboys

We sat next to Lisa Sweetingham on the plane ride home. She is the one who gave me a bag to barf in & then some hand santizer after. It was really embarrassing meeting this way but she was super cool.

She is a Random House author & just finished her new book "Chemical Cowboys." It will be available in February 24, 2009. I wanted to give her a shout out because she was a really great person & I hope she is very successful.

It's based on a true story & is about the DEA hunting down a notorious ecstacy kingpin. Be sure to check it out!

I wish I had a photo because she was really pretty too.

New York City & some great stories.....

First off, I was so so sick the entire to were we there. I had to make myself do anything because I felt like complete crap. My voice was gone & I think people just thought I was a really soft spoken girl from Utah.

When we arrived in NYC we called for a towncar because they didn't provide us with transportation. We ended up getting this really cool guy who drove his own Lincoln Navigator. He was our personal driver while we were there. We kept his number so if anybody wants it, I would highly recommend him. He was awesome.

People acted like they had never seen a guy in a cowboy hat before & I think I was the only one wearing color on the street. It seemed like everyone was wearing the same black coat & the same boots. Everyone was bundled in scarves, gloves, & hats when it was only like 60 degrees outside. That was pretty funny. I guess it's all a fashion thing.

The first night we walked to times square & ate then went back to the hotel to sleep. We took a rickshaw ride through the park & that was so fun.Kb sticking out like a sore thumb in New york!Beautiful church downtown.I love all the elm trees in Central Park. They are so pretty. The "Friends" fountain. We were to cold to get out & take a picture so you get this other couple instead.Cool fountain that our guide through the park said was the center of town. The "Ghostbusters" building. That was cool. I guess Bono lives there & some other stars.Where John Lennon was shot going into his building.I don't really know what part of town this was but it said Trump so we said, "You're fired." It was like going into a dungeon at the hotel. It was very very dark. Our hotel was so mini-me. It was very odd & I had a serious panic attack being in it because I'm so claustrophobic. And, they had eye ball lamps looking at us the whole time. It was weird. Outside our hotel window. In the elevator of the Hudson Hotel.
Carnegie Deli where the pastrami sandwiches were huge & good! Lots of famous people eat there. When we walked to Madsen Avenue through the park to the Christian Louboutin boutique where I found nothing. That had these giant naked statues in the mall across the street from our hotel. I didn't want to offend & stand by the guy statue but Kb kissed her butt.
Here are some stories from our travels......

When we were walking down 5th Avenue shopping an old woman hit a girls car on the hood with her hand & told her to stop because it was a red light. The two girls in the car started screaming at the old lady calling her really bad names that I won't mention here but Kb got pissed & told the "girls" to shut the hell up & all they could come back with was, "F you, go back to Texas!" We seriously laughed so hard!

My feet were killing me when we were walking & I was so mad because I was wearing my expensive Frye boots. I decided I would sell them when I got home & then I went to put them on again & the thick cardboard form came out. I have been wearing those boots for over a month with those cardboard things in them. I am so retarded.

When we shopped at Bergdorf Goodman, we went to the shoe section so I could try on shoes. This salesman came up to Kb sitting on the couch & said, "Hey man, Stone Temple Pilots are like my favorite band." We just looked at each other & thought he was joking around. He came back 5 minutes later & said, "Seriously dude, I'm so glad you guys got back together!" He was dead serious. He thought Kb was Scott Weiland......hahaha!!

On the plane to return to SLC I started feeling weird just after takeoff. We were still climbing to altitude so I couldn't get up. I paniced & started looking for a barf bag with no luck. Everyone around me was scrambling to find anything they could. The lady next to us gave me a shopping bag & I started throwing up. The bag had a hole in the bottom & was leaking all over me but I couldn't stop throwing up. I had like 3 sprites at Chilis before we left so.....you know. I put 5 bags on top of each other & had to wait til the seatbelt light went off to throw it away. That was so embarrassing but the flight attendants gave me special treatment after that. They kept coming back to see if I was okay.

We were so happy to be back in Utah after that trip. It was pretty cool that 3 different ladies told me they envied my life. We met a cool couple in our hotel. We also met a cool couple in a bakery down the street on Halloween. We didn't do anything but get dinner that night. This guy was dressed up like Richard Simmons & it was the best costume ever! He was halarious.

Overall it was a fun trip. It was so short I didn't get to do everything I wanted but that's ok. We still had fun.

Band of the week

The Beastie Boys: Licensed to Ill

I'm jealous. One of my friends is going to see them this week.

Memories of Dan Adams, Scott Buckner, & Ryan Wenger come into mind.

Can you believe they started in 1979 when I was only 2??? The band members are all old & gray now but they still rock hard! They are a chosen few white dudes who can acually rap. Ethan loves them.

My favorite songs on this album are "Girls" & "Brass Monkey"

Picture of the week

My favorite tree. I love it.

Sierra's Haircut

It's so nice to have a daughter when I get the urge to chop my hair off. Instead, I chopped hers off. Muhaha!

Don't let the fake smile fool you. She loves her new hairdo. It's a bit Jennifer Aniston like. It looks so thick (it is really thick) & longer with the layers. The only thing I don't like is that she is looking more grown up & it makes me sad. She went to the movies with her friends today & the whole time I was thinking, is this my little baby Sierra? Boooo.

She's a beaut Clark, she's a beaut!

I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR!

Meow.

I truly ruled the school today & kicked ass. Yep, that's right. THAT. JUST. HAPPENED.

I replaced all four door handles & the tailgate handle with chrome. This intelled removing the door panels which was no easy task because of all the wiring & auto stuff. It took me forever.....a good 4.5 maybe 5 hours but I did it, figured it all out, & they look so super sweet!

My next conquest is the fuel door & rocker panels which have already been ordered.

Butchers in training

Sierra & Ethan really wanted to help Uncle Jerome cut the deer in preperation for jerky. They sliced it thin & practiced their wise knife skills.

Blackberry Curve

This is my new phone & I dig it. Kb got a new phone but hated it so I sold it on Ebay & got this one. He will be getting my Blackberry Pearl. I got a cute pink skin for it too.

If anyone has Blackberry Messenger let me know cause it's free!!!!!

Update on my life

Just because I know some of you wonder & don't ask.........

We have been at Kb's Mom's house for 4 months now & I think we're ready for a home. We bought a new truck that I am in love with.....did I mention how much I loved it? I LOVE IT!!!! Our kids really like the school they are in & want to stay. That's fine with us because we have been planning on moving to SLC but the last time we were there we had our minds changed.

Going to the city from living out here is such a shock. The hustle & bustle is just to much I've decided. My life has slowed down considerably & I love it. I hated it here for the first couple months but it just grew on me. I am reminded of my childhood & it's all good to me. I love the space from other people but I also love the small town friendliness out here.

I never knew how much I really loved horses & I want one bad. We are looking for a place with acreage to allow them. I want my family & their kids to come stay with me. I want my home to be the Thanksgiving, Easter, 4Th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc. haven. I want everyone to come to our house & play!

As for my mental health.....YES I do get bored very easily & change my mind as often as every day but I am the most happy I've been in years. Things are so good for us right now that I'm afraid to say it for fear that it'll all burst. Kb & I are stronger than ever & I attribute this to two reasons: him because he is working so hard at work & also to keep our family together & a special moment in church about 2 months ago. I had prayed for an answer about the two of us & I most certainly got it right in the middle of sacrament. I cried & felt at peace with everything.

The oil rigs have made him more of a family man that the opposite which has surprised me because some of those men are so rough. Maybe all my suffering has been for a reason. No, I haven't had a horribly hard life but I have had my trials & dealt with a lot. I think it's my time for happiness. I cry though wondering if I really deserve what I have been receiving. I'm not talking about material possessions either. I am being blessed.

Another thing I have realized out here is how much of a spending problem I had. It's so ridiculous that I'm so embarrassed to even confess but it's true & terrible. I had to tell Kb just how much I had spent & he accepted it gently & forgave me which I didn't deserve. Funny how you can watch & listen to conference but what you really need to hear is only what really sticks out. I listened to conference but the only thing I actually heard was about vanity & worldliness. I love clothes, it is my passion but I have gone overboard in the last year & I have decided to put a halt to it. I made this decision on my own, don't worry.

I will never stop dressing the way I do but I seriously have a closet full of clothes I haven't even worn. It's truly pathetic. I am going to simplify.

Peeping Tom, YOU GOT SERVED!

So my sister Jen & my little brother JJ rocked the house last night. They had a peeping tom at their house & they saw him looking in the kitchen window.

What did they do? They freaking chased him down in bare feet! Jen said they jumped fences & hurdled over hedges & the perv ran straight to the bishop's house where he was busted.

The cops came & arrested this good for nothing lame-o.

JEN & JJ: You seriously rock! Good job! Oh, & I love you both so much!!

Blue wadgie & ugly Mickey Mouse shirt

Some of you may know that Anavey is severely attached to one of those Carter's $10 receiving blankets she calls "wadgie." It's almost 2 years old now & it is having issues. It's not so much pink anymore as it is brown. We are in dire need of a replacement but have had no luck.

I bought her a "similar" blanket but she threw it & got mad. Yesterday I found one but it's blue. I bought it anyways. Well, it didn't replace the original gross wadgie but has now joined it. She now hauls around a pink one & a blue one. She calls it "blue wadgie" too! We are doomed when that cheap blanket kicks the bucket.

Ashlynn & Kb should both understand as both of them still have their baby blankets & still both sleep & travel with them. Kb's has split into 2 halves now so he leaves one home & takes one to the rig. Haha....it's pretty sad. I'm guessing this is why Anavey is so attached & Lucy is too. Her parents are blankie lovers too.

Now on to the ugly Mickey Mouse shirt........
We went to the thrift store today & Anavey found this ugly Christmas Mickey Mouse boy's shirt. She would not put it down so I had to buy it. She carried it around on the hanger for about 2 hours before wanting to wear it. Now, she has it on over her jammies. I took it off her to go to bed & she freaked out.
So, now she's attached to a gross pinkish brown blanket & an ugly Christmas Mickey Mouse shirt in very worn condition. Great.

Deer Hunt Special

I gave the kids a little lesson on how a business works. They wanted to make & sell cookies to the deer hunters coming up to camp.

So, yesterday we went to the store & bought flour, eggs, sugar, choc. chips, etc. Then we went to the dollar store & got cellophane bags, poster board, table cloth, & orange boas. This all came to around $18. I told them they had to pay me back that $18 before they could count a profit.
They ended up making $82 dollars. They paid me back & they were nice & shared their profit with their cousins who came up this afternoon.
They worked hard at getting it up & running. They woke up at 5:00 am to get to baking. I'm really proud of all their hard work. I will let them spend a little but the rest goes in their bank accounts.

It was a dino day!

The kids are out for UEA/Deer Hunt so we headed to Jensen, Utah for some dino digging. We went to Dinosaur National Park & I was a bit bummed.

The original building that was built around the mountain encasing many many dino bones & fossils has been condemned & won't be rebuilt until 2011. We broke the law to sneak in & peak into the building cause I wasn't going all the up there for nothing! That is where all the good bones are! And you know we rode that dino!We passed a crane farm. I did not even know that this type of thing existed but their were hundreds of them.
